To take full advantage of “The Nore fishing experience “ let me organise the rod licence/ permits for you.   I can also help you with the accommodation  to get you a place that is suited to your requirements so that when you arrive on the banks of the river you can get down to the serious stuff of fishing.
 
The cost of a days guided fishing for trout / salmon is 180 euro and lunch and refreshments are included.  Contact me for group rates.
The cost of a half day is 90 euro.

To fish for salmon you  will  require  a  State  licence  that you can get on line  here or I can arrange locally.

The cost of a trout permit is 5 to 10 euro, and for salmon it is between 25 to 35 euro per day depending on the waters we fish, some  fishing is free in Kilkenny city .

A typical day on the river starts after breakfast about 9:30 we fish till  about  1:00 then go for lunch then back down to the river and fish till about 6:00 but if you are as passionate about fly fishing as I am and fancy a "Sun up to sunset" session dont be shy just ask me.

A half day is either from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm or 2:00pm until 6:00pm or if you want an evening session 6:30 until late or when the fish stop taking.

• RODS. Rod length is a matter of personal choice so the following list is only for guidance.
• SALMON   15ft  for Spring and Autumn, 14ft or 9 to 10ft single hander  for Summer.
• TROUT   9ft, 4 to 6 line wight
• LINES. A good range of lines from full floaters to sinkers and plenty of backing.
• WADERS. Chest waders are the best but not essential for the Nore(the wadding is moderate.)
• LANDING NET. A net is essential as the Nore is at present a catch and release river.
• FLIES. The salmon are not fussy so all the usual suspects, stoats tail, Munro, Ally's and shrimp patterns. The trout are fussy so its a case of match the hatch and in the summer evenings its bank to bank sedge
